William A. Harris

William "Bill" Arthur Harris, 88, passed away after a brief stay at St. Elizabeth's Nursing Home, on Sunday evening, April 19, 2026. He was born on the first day of spring, March 20, 1938, in Janesville, WI, the son of Marvin & Viola Harris. He grew up in Stephenson, MI and in Knapp, WI, and later moved back to Janesville.

He served in the Army in the late 1950's and married his high school sweetheart, Nancie (Egan) Harris on June 4, 1960. Together they had two children: Wendy (Mike) Green & Randy Harris.

He became a Master Plumber and opened his own plumbing business; Harris Plumbing in 1977. He operated the business until he and Nancie retired in 2007, and moved up to the vacation home that he built, in between Richford and Dakota, Wisconsin and on the Mecan River. Many fantastic weekends were spent with family & friends on and in the Mecan.

Bill was preceded in death by many of his family members. His parents, his beloved wife, Nancie-whom he was married for 52 years, his son Randy, his granddaughter Mellissa Sue, his brothers Dick (Annie) Harris of Guam, Bruce (Carole), John (Patty), brother & sister-in-law Bud & Marlene, sisters Bonnie & Marvel all of Janesville. Also, his beloved dogs from the past, Elsa, Sadie and especially Izzy.

He is survived by his daughter Wendy, very important grandsons Jason, Nick (Mary) & Robb (Leann), as well as six great grandchildren, Kayden, Hailey, Adalyn, Luella, Esamae and Guiseppe, as well as his VERY special and VERY old goldfish, Cledious.

He was lucky to have visits in his last day by special people Carole, Patty, Karen, Gary and Wanda Walhovd and very good friend Carl Fairbert who was with him to almost the very end. I know he knew you were there.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. All Faiths Funeral and Cremation Services of Janesville is assisting the family.
