Vandy Sandlan passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on August 29, 2026.

Born on July 15, 1961, at Methodist Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Vandy graduated from Evansville High School in 1979. During her school years, she was actively involved in Mat Maids for the wrestling team, Glee Club, Color Guard, and the school newspaper.

Vandy spent most of her life in Wisconsin and built a life centered on family, hard work and caring for others. She is survived by her daughters, Tania Sandlan and Megan (Sandlan) Choudoir (Justin); her step-grandson, Dylan Choudoir; and her siblings, Alice (Sandlan) Cunningham (Terry), Steven Sandlan (Debbie), Lisa (Sandlan) Chavez (Manuel) and Hugh Patrick Nicely.

Vandy was proceeded in death by her beloved son, Travis Sandlan; her father, Donald Sandlan (Sandy); and her mother, Marie (Cash) Sandlan.

A dedicated and hardworking woman, Vandy took great pride in everything she did. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting handmade gifts for family and friends. She often shared inspirational quotes, and funny GIFs that brought laughter and joy to those she loved. She had a fun-loving spirit, a generous heart, and a remarkable ability to make the best of every situation.

Above all, Vandy loved her family deeply and treasured the relationships she built throughout her life. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed and forever held in the hearts of those who loved her.

A Celebration of Vandy’s Life will be held at a later date.
