Shawn A. Wenzel

Shawn Arden Wenzel, age 53, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on February 20, 2026. Shawn was born May 8, 1972 in Wausau, Wisconsin to Gary and Lois Wenzel.

Shawn is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Brenda Wenzel (Schultz); brother, Chris Wenzel; step-mother, Cindy Wenzel; step-brother, Jeff Kibler; father and mother-in-law, Dennis and Mary Schultz; brother-in-law, Jim (Kristin) Schultz; sister-in-law, Mary (Brian) Jurgella, many nieces/nephews, the Aquascape pond contractor community, the AA community, along with many more beloved friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents Gary and Lois Wenzel; grandparents; a sister-in-law and a brother-in-law.

Shawn graduated from DC Everest High School in Weston, WI. He joined the Navy, and then went on to receive his Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Shawn worked as a hydrogeologist, with the Wisconsin Department of Commerce and the Department of Natural Resources, for many years before starting his own business, Aquatic Innovators, LLC. This is where he combined his passion and love for water with the design and creation of water features and landscaping.

Shawn will be remembered for his kind heart, his many talents, the love he had for his family (both human and pets) and his dedication to helping others. He was happiest out in nature, spending relaxing moments with his wife by his home pond and working with all of his wonderful employees and clients throughout the years. Shawn’s beautiful creations will leave a lasting impression.

A private family memorial service will be planned at a later date.

He will live on in the hearts and lives of the people whom he loved. We invite you to keep Shawn's memory alive always.
