Scott Schafer

MADISON – Scott Walter Schafer, age 64, passed away peacefully at home after a short battle with cancer on Thursday, May 8, 2025. He was born September 19, 1960, in Waukesha, Wis., the son of the late Walter and Kathryn (Martin) Schafer.

Scott grew up in Mukwonago, Wis., and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from UW-LaCrosse before moving to Madison. He married Jodi L Zink in 1999. Scott spent his entire career as a chemist at Covance Laboratories before retiring at the age of 54.

Scott is survived by his wife, Jodi; sister, Toni (Russ) Lepak; niece, Melissa (Brian) Schuett; nephew, Chad Lepak; great nieces and nephew, Aubrey, Lia, and Ty Schuett; mother-in-law, Sharon Zink (late father-in-law, Dick); sister-in-law, Lezlie (Todd) Chicker. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
