Nancy C. Burzell

Nancy C. Burzell, age 81, went in peace at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin, on April 22, 2025, to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born on April 13, 1944 to Alden and Florence Burzell in Rockford, Illinois.

Nancy work many years in manufacturing. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family playing cards, family trips, get togethers and traveling to see family in Tennessee. Nancy enjoyed going with Shelley to gambling casinos and many short trips. Nancy like watching the Young and the Restless and going to play bingo.

Nancy will sadly be missed by many. But, she is now at peace from all the surgeries, chronic kidney disease, removal of her right leg due to vascular disease, and, dementia which was robbing her memory every day. Thank you for being my best friend and going thru life together – Cheri Milgrim.

Nancy is survived by Harry Burzell, Rockford IL; Bill Burzell, Tennessee; Cameron Burzell, Rockford IL; and special sister-in-law Cecilia Burzell, Tennessee. Shelley Anderson, Afton WI, her life partner and care taker for the last 4 years. Nancy and Shelley had 32 wonderful years together. Her best friend of 55 years, Cheryl Milgrim and Cheryl’s husband, Charles.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Bobby Burzell, Rockford IL; half-brother Johnny Butry, Tennessee; and Claude Burzell, Tennessee; also aunt Lorraine, Rockford IL; Charles and Maureen Seiwright, Muscatine Iowa; and many cousins.

Cremation Rites have been accorded thru All Faiths Funeral and Cremation Services, Janesville, WI. There will be no burial at this time. Shelley would like to have a Celebration of Life for all of Nancy’s family, their children, cousins, nieces and nephews, and, many friends who didn’t get a chance to say goodbye in the near future. Shelley will notify family and friends of the date.
