Kathleen Ann Hager, age 76, of Janesville, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, in Beloit.
Kathleen was born on December 14, 1949, in Janesville, Wisconsin to John and Doris Balas. She graduated from Craig High School in 1968. On May 24, 1969, she married the love of her life, James Hager, in Janesville.
Kathleen worked at Gilman and later at General Motors until her retirement in 2009, when the local plant closed. She was a dedicated and hardworking woman who took pride in her work.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her son, Jason (Sherri) Hager; her grandsons, Ryan and Liam; her son, Jim (Bernadine) Nordeng; her "favorite granddaughter", Monica Duffield; her brother, Roger Balas; and her sisters, Mary (Pat) Shaw and Sandi Balas as well as her extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Hager; her children, Justin, Samantha, and John; her grandson, Zachary Kreblin; and her parents.
Kathleen had a creative and generous spirit. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, and crocheting, and she expressed her love through cooking and baking for those around her. She found peace and happiness outdoors, especially while gardening. One of her favorite traditions was spending summer vacations up north in Rome, Wisconsin, where she made cherished memories with her family.
Kathleen will be remembered for her strength, and her devotion to those she loved. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank the wonderful Beloit Hospice team who took excellent care of Kathy in her final days. Nurses: Stephanie, Jessica, Shannon. CNAs, Sherri and Jennifer. Chaplain Nancy and grief counselor Nicole. We'd like to also express our extreme gratitude and appreciation to Bernadine, Monica, and Jim for caring for her everyday needs and making sure she was loved beyond measure.
