Judith L. Prentice

Judith L. Prentice, age 79, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026, in Clinton, Wisconsin.

Born on August 1, 1947, in Janesville, Wisconsin, she was the cherished daughter of Doris E. (Bartlett) Prentice and Harvey H. Prentice. Judith was a vibrant, deeply caring, and giving woman who centered her life around her family, filling every room she entered with laughter, quick wit, and affection. She famously loved "picking on" the ones she loved most, a testament to her playful and warm-hearted nature.

Judith had a deep passion for history, spent hours crocheting beautiful keepsakes, and never missed her favorite crime shows. She found immense beauty in red roses and white doves. Above all, she loved sharing her endless library of stories—most notably her legendary tale about her, Lenny Pickett, and the bow.

Judith was preceded in death by: her parents, Doris and Harvey Prentice; her brothers, Robert W. Prentice (stillborn) and James A. Prentice; her ex-husbands, Kenneth J. Montanye and Al Peche; her fiancé, John Ratzlaff; her boyfriend, John Kalas.

She is survived by a large, loving family who will carry forward her legacy of love and laughter: her daughter, Tanya Cirone and husband Michael, and their children Zachary Jensen, Joshua Meske, and Natasha Montanye, along with two great-grandchildren. Her son, Tod Montanye and wife Corintha, and their children Rheanne, Raquel, Rebecca and Rose. Countless close family members and friends whom she loved so deeply that she proudly claimed and called them her own "kids and grandkids."
