Dorothy C. Beck

Whitewater-Dorothy C. Beck, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Fort Atkinson. She was born in Neenah, Wisconsin on January 5, 1929 to Arnold and Mary Brunn. Dorothy graduated from Menasha High School in June 1947. She married Morris Beck on June 19, 1948. Dorothy worked at American Optical during the 1970’s and at UWW Food Service in 1981 until her retirement in May 1992. She worked with the church quilting group for a couple of years and took great pleasure in tying the quilts. Dorothy loved her many cats and also enjoyed decorating for Halloween, Christmas, and Easter. She is survived by her husband; one son, William Beck; three sisters, Francis Knipfel, of Neenah, Marie Lollard, of Oshkosh, and Bernice Bodde, of Lansing, Kansas; special nieces, Sandy Beyer and Lena Sprague; three cats; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Dorothy is preceded by one sister, Marcella Buck. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at First English Lutheran Church, 401 W. MAIN STREET, Whitewater with Pastor Gerald Wendt officiating. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the great staff at Golden Living Center for the outstanding care they gave Dorothy for the past 14 months. They would also like to thank Pastor Steve Hanson and First English Church, Asera Hospice, Dr. Tackman, and everyone else for their kind thoughts during this time.
