Dorothy Lucille (Fogle) Anderson, age 95, has passed away and joined her husband, Gordon Reinhard Anderson with her Lord and Savior.
Dorothy was born to Ernest and Florence (Kunick) Fogle on March 9, 1930. She was the first of four other siblings: Geraldine, Florence (Pudgy), Ernest (Junior), and Alan (Al).
They were a hearty, loving, and caring Northwestern Railroad family.
She attended North Fond du lac and Fond du lac public schools and graduated in 1948 from Fond du Lac High School. As a life-long learner she also attended Fond du lac Vocational School, The University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac, and Moraine Park Technical College.
Dorothy was a lifelong resident of the Fond du lac area until Covid interrupted her life schedule. At that time, she decided to move to her eldest son's residence in Madison, then to Madison Pointe, a senior residence. It is there that she passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025.
Dot married Andy (Gordon Reinhard Anderson) on May 7,1949, and they raised three sons: Rod, Marty and Scott. She was a stay-at-home mom who supported the PTA, was a den mother, had coffee with the neighbor gals, taught Sunday School, and made the best chocolate chip cowboy cookies that were enjoyed by all, including the boys at G&L, Davis Division.
Prior to marriage, Dorothy worked for the Tack Oil Company. After the birth of Rod, her role changed to that of homemaker. Once the three boys were older, she worked in sales at Montgomery Wards and then Sears, as an activity therapist for Care Center, and was one of Fond du Lac's famous Gibson Girls (Helen Schroeder, Paula Bowe, Pudgy Lichtenwald, and Dorothy) at Gibson Discount Center. After her retirement she worked as a peer counselor for the Fond du lac Senior Center and St. Agnes Hospital.
Dorothy was a member of Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church and served as a Sunday School Nursery teacher for many years.
On her most recent birthday she said she never thought she'd live to be 95. Those who predeceased her are her husband, Gordon; son, Marty; and siblings and in-laws, Geraldine, Ernie (Marilyn Rost), Florence "Pudgy" (Lloyd Lichtenwald), and Barb (Thill) Fogle.
She is survived by sons, Rod (Jan Antonneau) and Scott (Peggy Schaefer); her grandchildren, Sarah (Chris Zeitler), Becki (Chris Boeke), and Brian (Amy Wrobleski); great-grandchildren, Keagyn and Kendall Zeitler, Greyson, Andi, and Kirra Boeke, and Avery, Hunter, and Emma Anderson; and brother, Alan Fogle. She is also survived by life-long friend, Dutch Bindert; later-in-life friend, Yvonne Benson; "other son", Phil Miller (Susan Ray); "other granddaughter", Anabella Torres Lopez; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Our family is thankful to all her friends and staff at Madison Pointe, the wonderful caregivers of Bristol Hospice, and the kind neighbors of Crowfoot Court and Birchwood Condos.
A celebration of life will be held at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church, 20 Wisconsin American Drive, Fond du lac, on Sunday, October 26, 2025. The visitation will start at 1 p.m. with the service at 2 p.m., followed by a light lunch. Please mark your calendars!!
