Barbara Ann Knapp

Barbara A. (Dugdale) Knapp, 84, passed away on August 25, 2026. She was born on April 19, 1942, in Iron River, Michigan to Warren and Lillian Dugdale.

Barb was a teacher, a talented artist, and above all, a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend. Creative and caring, she had a wonderful sense of humor and brought kindness and laughter to the people fortunate enough to know her.

Barb married Donald Logan in 1964 and together, they raised their sons, Marc and Scott, in Madison, Wisconsin. Later in life, Barb returned "back home" to Michigan's Upper Peninsula, settling on a beautiful property along Lake Superior in Baraga. Being there allowed her to be closer to her father, Warren, brother, Jack, and niece, Karen, and brought her back to a place that remained very special to her throughout her life.

Barb later married Harry Knapp Jr. in 1998 and the two built a wonderful life together along the shore of Lake Superior. They loved traveling, creating stained-glass art, rooting for the Green Bay Packers, spending time at the lake and on the beach, playing with their Cavalier King Spaniels and simply enjoying one another's company.

Barb and Harry moved to Janesville, Wisconsin in 2023 where they got to spend lots of time with their grand-daughter Elizabeth (Jason) Knapp-Spooner and niece, Sandy Cooley. Barb continued making glass artwork and enjoyed time with her neighbors, going for walks along the river and going to the Janesville farmers market.

Barb also loved playing cards - especially cribbage - and treasured time spent with family and friends. Whether through her art, her laughter, a game of cards or a simple conversation, Barb had a way of making time spent together special.

A celebration of life open house will be held from 1:00 - 4:00 at 877 Sutherland Ave, Janesville, WI on Saturday, September 26, 2026. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Legion Auxiliary at https://www.legion-aux.org/Home.

Barb's life was filled with family, creativity, laughter and love. She will be deeply missed, but those who loved her will carry with them the countless memories of time spent together—and of the beautiful Lake Superior shoreline she so dearly loved.

Barb is survived by her sons Marc (Becky) Logan and Scott (Dawn Taylor) Logan; her brother, Jack (Kathe) Dugdale; nieces, Sandy Cooley and Karen Dugdale; stepchildren Kathy (Jim) Hanus, Koren (Brian) Pinkston, Karla Knapp, and Harry (Bonnie Dompier) Knapp; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and her dog, Buddy.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Harry Knapp Jr.; and her parents, Warren and Lillian Dugdale.
