MADISON – Marilyn J. Garlock, age 63 of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009 surrounded by her family at the HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. She was born July 22, 1945 in Janesville, the daughter of Kenneth and Meta (Riege) Schadt. She graduated from Manatee High School in Bradenton, Florida. Marilyn was united in marriage to Gary Garlock on July 22, 1967 at Cargill United Methodist Church in Janesville. Together they had a daughter, Laurie. Marilyn loved to sew and spending time outdoors especially on the beaches in Hawaii, but her biggest joy was her grandson. She is survived by her husband, Gary; daughter, Laurie (Paul) Mair, of Janesville; grandson, Cavanaugh Mair, of Janesville; her father, Kenneth Schadt, of Anna Maria, FL; two sisters, Shirley Kutz, of Fort Atkinson and Sharon (Alan) Flitcraft, of Flagstaff, AZ; sister-in-law, Gail (Jerry) Davis, of Janesville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother. Services will be held at the DON & MARILYN ANDERSON HOSPICECARE CENTER, 5395 E. Cheryl Pkwy., Fitchburg on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Comprehensive Cancer Center at University Hospital or HospiceCare, Inc.
